Good to know

Are dump stations free?
Most council dump stations in New Zealand and Australia are free or ask for a donation. Holiday parks and some service stations charge non-guests a few dollars. In the USA, many RV parks and travel centres charge US$5 to $15.
Can I empty a cassette toilet at a dump station?
Yes. Most dump stations take cassettes and grey water as well as black tanks. Rinse with the non-potable tap, never the drinking water tap.
What can’t go in?
No household rubbish, wipes or harsh chemicals that kill the bacteria septic systems rely on. Use toilet chemicals marked safe for septic systems.
Where are the dump stations on my route?
Tick “Campervan” when you plan a trip in Roadtrip and it lists dump stations and drinking water along the way.
