Which cars are ULEZ compliant?
Petrol cars that meet Euro 4 (most first registered from 2006, some from 2001) and diesel cars that meet Euro 6 (most first registered from September 2015). Fully electric cars are compliant.
How do I know my car's Euro standard?
The DVLA records it for many cars, and the check shows it when it does. When it doesn't, the car's fuel and the date it was first registered are a strong guide, and the check says how sure it is.
Is a hybrid ULEZ compliant?
A hybrid is judged by its engine: a petrol hybrid needs Euro 4 and a diesel hybrid Euro 6. Almost every hybrid on the road meets that.
Do ULEZ standards apply outside London?
The same Euro 4 petrol and Euro 6 diesel standards are used by most UK clean air zones that charge cars, such as Birmingham's and Bristol's, though each sets its own rules and charges.
