Does it have a valid MOT, and when does it run out? Type the registration for the DVLA's record, with its tax and ULEZ too.

Questions

How do I check a car's MOT?

Type its registration above. The check reads the DVLA's register and shows whether the MOT is valid and the date it runs out.

When does a car need its first MOT?

Three years after it was first registered (four in Northern Ireland), then every year.

Can I drive a car without a valid MOT?

Only to a booked MOT test or to a garage for repairs needed to pass it. Otherwise driving without one can mean a fine of up to £1,000, and it usually voids the insurance.
