Is the car check really free?
Yes. There's no fee and no sign-up. It reads the DVLA's public vehicle register, the same record the government's own checker uses.
Does it show outstanding finance or whether a car is stolen?
No. Those come from private databases and paid checks. This shows what the DVLA records: tax, MOT and the car's details.
