Kylies Beach is a lower-key alternative to Diamond Head, set behind the dunes with unmarked sites you can drive onto. It has toilets and showers but no tap water or power, so bring all your own. Koalas and yellow-tailed black cockatoos often hang out in the trees.

Good to know

  • No water on site, fill up before you arrive
  • Fires only in off-ground braziers, hire one at Diamond Head
  • Buy firewood and ice at the Diamond Head office
