This starts beside Lake Brunner opposite Lake Brunner Lodge, on the Kumara-Inchbonnie road. The first kilometre is mostly boardwalk beside swampy shoreline, then the track crosses Drake Point through big kahikatea, matai and rimu. At Bain Bay, old wharf piles and logging relics survive.
