Two short tracks start from one car park on Queen Charlotte Drive, about 5.5 km from Havelock: a 10 minute return to a lookout over Mahau Sound and the estuaries, and a 1 hour loop with views of Pelorus Sound and Havelock. Havelock mussels make a good reward after. Check road conditions on Queen Charlotte Drive before you go.
