Welcome Flat Hot Springs

A long, flat walk along the Copland Track brings you to Welcome Flat Hut and a set of free natural hot pools beside the river. Most people overnight at the hut or campsite, which need to be booked with DOC all year. It's a proper backcountry adventure and a highlight of the West Coast for anyone prepared for a full day on foot.

• Book the hut or campsite with DOC before you go, a penalty applies if you don't
• The track closes after heavy rain, check conditions
• Allow a full day each way, it's about 18 km from the road end
• Keep your head out of the pools
