Dove Cottage was home to William and Dorothy Wordsworth between 1799 and 1808, and the museum beside it displays manuscripts and objects from their circle. Guided visits take you through the cramped rooms and out into the garden, still planted much as they kept it. Grasmere village is a short walk away.
