Shingle Street is a coastal settlement of coastguard cottages on the Suffolk shore, at the mouth of the River Ore and opposite the tip of Orford Ness. It is a quiet, wild shingle bank that feels cut off, though erosion is a real risk to the hamlet. A good spot for a stroll and for watching ships.
