Eight thatched buildings, including a croft house lived in until 1957, a smithy, a weaver's house and a tiny shop, are kept as they would have looked a century and a half ago. It is small, personal and quick, which makes it a good break on the Trotternish loop. Flora MacDonald's grave is in the old graveyard just up the road.
