Homestake is a free, no-frills primitive camp with about ten sites in the north-west of Death Valley National Park, with no water or toilets. It is for self-sufficient travellers who want empty desert and dark skies. The only way in is the long, rough Racetrack Road, so you need a high-clearance 4WD.
