Tolkan Campground has nine sites (four tent, five trailer), vault toilets and no potable water, about 15 minutes up unpaved King Peak Road from Shelter Cove. Trails here are open all year. The BLM recommends 4WD and good clearance for the drive on to Lightning Trailhead.
