Wall Drug began in the 1930s by offering free ice water to travellers heading to Mount Rushmore, and signs for it now stretch for hundreds of miles. Today it is a rambling warren of shops, a cafe, a giant jackalope and a back-yard park with animatronic dinosaurs. The 5-cent coffee and the doughnuts are the reason to come.
