This is the main road north from Glasgow to Fort William, about 215 km along the A82. It runs beside Loch Lomond, across the empty Rannoch Moor and down through Glencoe, the best-known glen in Scotland. It makes a good first day of a longer trip to Skye or the north, but avoid summer weekend afternoons when it gets busy.
