Pakawau Beach Park

Tent sites, campervan parking and beachfront cabins right on the water about 14 km past Collingwood. Sunrise and sunset are both on show over the sea. Wharariki Beach, Cape Farewell and Farewell Spit are all within about 20 minutes, and the Old School Cafe sits across the road.

Good to know

• Stock up in Takaka or Collingwood first, the choice is thin up here
• Wharariki Beach is best late afternoon, so it makes a good evening trip
