Alport Castles is a huge landslip in a remote side valley off the Snake Pass, thought to be the largest in the UK. The slumped gritstone has left crags that look like castle towers, and the largest is called the Tower. It is a proper walk, but one that feels far from the crowds on Kinder and Mam Tor.
