Friar's Crag is a small rocky headland jutting into Derwent Water, a flat 15-minute walk from the lakeside car park in Keswick. The National Trust bought it in memory of Canon Rawnsley, one of its founders, and there is a memorial to John Ruskin close by. The view takes in the islands and the Borrowdale fells.
