Watendlath Beck drops more than 100 feet in a steep, rocky cascade just behind the Lodore Falls Hotel. The poet Robert Southey wrote about the falls, and they are loudest after a wet spell and weak in a dry summer. Plan it with a walk along the lakeshore from Keswick or a drive down Borrowdale.
